Advent plays an important roll in Austria’s annual event calendar. All around Fuschl am See you can visit the wonderful Christmas Markets and enjoy the enchanting picture of Christmas lights of the villages of St. Wolfgang, St. Gilgen and Strobl reflected in the waters of Wolfgang Lake. A romantic boat ride on the lake will take you past the tiny illuminated islands of the Ochsenkreuz and the hochzeitkreuz below the might Falkenstein rock-face and onto the giant Advent Lantern floating off the shores of Strobl. Enjoy the warming taste of mulled wine, roasted chestnuts and gingerbread. Stroll past the stalls and the nativity scenes with real livestock and soak up the peaceful, pre-Christmas atmosphere so special to Austria.
