At the beginning of the 17th century Archbishop Markus Sittikus ordered the construction of the palace gardens. The Italian architect Santino Solari errected a jewel in the style of the Renaissance. Hellbrunn is a unique synthesis of the arts that is called a wonder of formal gardens. Today Hellbrunn is one of the most important recreation areas of the inhabitants of Salzburg.
Discover the the sights of the gardens: the English Garden, the Stone Theatre and the Monatsschlössl. After an idyllic walk you can make a picnic on the lawns of the palace.
