The Kneipp Garden in Fuschl am See

Kneippism Wellbeing in Salzburg

Sebastian Kneipp (1821 -1897) was a man of vision who realised that “health” was dependent not just on physical but also psychological wellbeing. His natural healing methods paved the way for a new era in preventative medicine.

Kneipp was convinced of the healing powers of water and that ailments could be soothed and cured using herbs and indigenous plants. His years of experience and systematic and scientifically based research helped him to found the Kneipp philosophy which enjoys great popularity in Austria and parts of Germany today. Water, plants, physical exercise and nutrition form the basis of the Kneipp philosophy. When put into practice Kneipp’s naturopathic products and treatments create a whole new way of life.

Fuschl’s Kneipp Association offers an attractive introductory programme every Monday and invites guests to “have a go” and find out more about Kneipp! There’s nothing to fear, the programme on offer includes treading water, moon-light walks, gymnastics or a visit to the herb garden to find out just what the various different plants can be used for. The programme is free of charge and there’s sure to be something of interest for everyone. Use this as an opportunity to make your holiday a happy and healthy one. If you’d like to find out more on your own, visit the Kneipp garden just after the underpass at the beginning of the Bambichl walk. Take a few minutes to sit and relax in the peaceful garden and then tread water in the Kneipp pool - you will find instructions in English to ensure that you get the most out of your visit to the Kneipp garden - we wish you lots of fun on your Kneipp discovery tour!!!
